15 Year Old Escapes Being Trafficked, 2 Arrested

Our latest AIM SWAT report is one of the more unique stories we’ve heard recently, and it has us rejoicing at the news that a potential victim was spared from being harmed! A 15-year-old girl filed a complaint with the Siem Reap Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Police (AHTJPP) that she had been tricked to go to a hotel room where a man was waiting for her and attempted to rape her. She managed to fight him off and escape, then ran back home to tell her mother, who then complained to the AHTJP Police.

On Wednesday, March 21st officers of the Siem Reap AHTJP Police supported by AIM SWAT arrested 2 adults suspected of being involved in an attempt to traffic the young girl. Both the woman suspected to have sold the girl and the customer at the hotel were located and arrested!

The girl has been transferred to AIM Restoration Home and will be represented by the AIM SWAT legal team throughout subsequent court proceedings. Both suspects were transferred to Siem Reap court.
