Open Volunteer Positions in the USA

Volunteer positions are generally based at our US Headquarters in Roseville, CA.

AIM is looking for fun-loving people who love what we do and want to raise awareness about human trafficking. If you love talking with people and the energy of working events, then this is perfect for you. You will attend local events as needed and represent AIM by talking to people and helping to sell products made by our young women at our employment centers.

Open Volunteer Positions in Cambodia

Positions in Cambodia are unpaid volunteer projects. These require individuals to raise their own financial support to cover their needs while they serve with AIM.

Project Summary: Work closely with the Country Director/Sr. Program Director to optimize their time and facilitate the leadership of Cambodia programs and departments. Provide assistance on special projects for the operations department.

Project Time Commitment: 2 years

Project Goals: Throughout each segment of the following major milestones the following goals must be completed:

  1. Assist senior leadership with operations and program special projects.
  2. Assist in coordinating the logistics for implementation and execution of special projects.
  3. Work directly with COO and Project Managers to ensure details of each project are managed.
  4. Coordinate the meeting schedule for the Project Managers.
  5. Prepare minutes for meetings
  6. Prepare/organize meeting spaces for important meetings
  7. Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
  8. Planning and logistics of travel for Country Director, Sr. Director of Programs and Senior Leadership visiting Cambodia
  9. Be available and present for issues during regular operations program hours. 
  10. Attend regular meetings with Project Manager for accountability and project assessment. 
  11. Follow all AIM Standard, Policies and Procedures

Required Skills, Experience and Spiritual gifts:

  • Previous experience as an executive assistant to a senior leader in a medium to large organization, preferably a nonprofit organization. 
  • Strong command of MS Office, including Excel, Word, etc.
  • Experience in working internationally.
  • Experience working in different cultures, preferably understanding honor shame culture.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to help the Project Managers optimize their time.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work well with people from different backgrounds and at different levels in the organization.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to work with different personality types and cultures.
  • Prioritization skills needed; Ability to handle multiple requests coming at one time.

This role will interact and be a liaison with the US based Design/Product team and the Cambodia based manufacturing team; ensuring designs are translated and replicated to the product quality and standards intended. The Production Assistant and QC Manager will assist the sewing room manager in the production cycle from initial product sampling to delivery of quality goods (FOB Phnom Penh).

Project Time Commitment: 3 years

Project Goals: Throughout each segment of the following major milestones the following goals must be completed:

  1. Be the liaison between the designers and pattern makers to the manufacturing floor
  2. Distribute and communicate tech packs and patterns to sewing team leads and the sewing room managers
  3. Approve all initial samples before they are shipped to the US design team for final approval
  4. Communicate any edits or changes made to product samples
  5. Keep organized records of all samples and changes
  6. Make small edits in Gerber AccuMark print patterns, and update sample packs in Illustrator
  7. Confirm approved final samples with the US and update sewing team with updated tech packs, patterns, and finalized approval sample
  8. Store and record changes with date for all updated tech packs, patterns, and final updated samples in sample library
  9. Spot check QC during production to ensure quality in all products, looking for any inconsistencies of repetitive QC problems
  10. Troubleshoot and problem solve any major QC issues occurring
  11. Follow all AIM Standards, Policies and Procedures

Required Skills, Experience and Spiritual gifts:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Natural problem solver and ability to see areas for improvement; bringing solutions and implementing them individually, or within a team
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects, while operating in a fast paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction
  • Ability to read and translate spec packs to the production team
  • Ability to work across multiple cultures
  • Strong eye for detail

Project Summary: Assess, develop, and implement a discipleship program for all program leaders and personnel in Cambodia, with the goal of training up a Cambodian staff member to continue the program long term. 

Project Time Commitment: 3 year minimum, ideally 4 years.

Project Goals: Throughout each segment of the following major milestones the following goals must be completed:

  1. Spend time within programs and with leaders to better understand AIM and the Khmer culture in regards to how it impacts spiritual formation, and previous involvement or lack of involvement
  2. Assess spiritual formation practices within pillars and programs 
  3. Assess impact on standardized spiritual formation practices, including but not limited to:
    1. Schedules
    2. Workload
    3. Spiritual Maturity/Pulse of each program
    4. Current practices (i.e., prayer, bible study, devotions)
    5. Literacy of staff
    6. Access to resources (bibles, etc.)
  4. Develop a spiritual formation program that will impact the lives of the AIM staff in Cambodia, and determine the number of personnel needed to create a spiritual formation team
  5. Build out a communication plan to keep leaders updated on the progress of the program development with the goal to increase buy-in and excitement of what’s to come
  6. Conduct training with directors and program leaders that inspire transformation
  7. Develop a way to measure effectiveness and ensure consistency across programs. Make adjustments to the program as needed
  8. Create and manage budget
  9. Mentor a Cambodian staff member to assume the role
  10. Meet quarterly with Senior Director of HR for assessment of progress of program
  11. Meet regularly with your spiritual mentor for personal discipleship and to maintain health
  12. Provide time for discipleship and mentoring
  13. Attend regular meetings with Project Manager for accountability and project assessment
  14. Follow all AIM Standards, Policies and Procedures

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies or Pastoral Leadership, or equivalent field experience.
  • Experience in creating and leading spiritual formation programs for individuals and groups
  • Experience in biblical counseling
