At 9 PM on Tuesday, July 11th AIM SWAT Team officers, together with the Phnom Penh Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Police (AHTJP) executed a raid at a Vietnamese brothel fronting as a massage parlor located in the southern part of Phnom Penh.
The raid followed a 2 month surveillance operation that found that at least 2 minors were being sold for sex at the location. During the raid, 3 suspected minors and 2 adults were rescued. One trafficker was also arrested at the scene.
AIM Social Workers were on the scene to provide immediate care for all the victims, who shared that they had been sold for sex to the profit of the trafficker. All 3 suspected minors have been transferred to AIM Restoration Home, and the 2 adults were transferred to Rahab’s House Phnom Penh. The trafficking suspect was formally charged in court with child sex trafficking related offenses and has been held in jail while pending trial.
