Local police and AIM SWAT officers conducted a raid on July 29th after a two-week covert operation confirmed that young Vietnamese girls were being sold for sex to customers at a cafe/massage parlor in the Stung Meanchey area of Phnom Penh.
During the raid, 3 minors and 1 adult were rescued with 1 suspect arrested. The brothel was then shut down by local authorities following the search for and seizure of evidence. The suspect admitted to both selling the victims for sex and supplying them drugs and has since been inprisoned where he will await trial for his charges of child sex trafficking-related offenses.
The 3 minors were transferred to AIM Restoration Home while the woman is being cared for at a partner shelter. Our legal team will represent all 4 victims throughout the future court case.
