On June 11th, Phnom Penh Police together with AIM SWAT raided an adjoined cafe and massage parlor. 7 girls as young as 13 years old were rescued and a suspect, the manager of the cafe and massage parlor, was arrested.
The raid was the result of a month-long surveillance operation where investigators confirmed information that minors were being sold for sex from the premises. In interviews following their rescue, the girls shared that they were sold to the profit of the manager who has been charged with child sex trafficking-related offenses. He will stay in prison until his trial.

The girls, all who we suspect are minors, have been transferred to partner shelters for care and will be represented by our legal team in the upcoming legal process.
