2 girls are now safe after being trafficked by a neighbor family
On March 24th, AIM SWAT assisted local police in the arrest of 3 family members who were coercing and manipulating 2 minor girls to have sex with adult men. In November of 2020, the suspects persuaded the girls, ages 13 and 14, to go with them to neighboring provinces to meet men. One of the survivors explained how the family would offer her money to go with them while her parents were out. Then, she was be taken to a guesthouse where men would meet them and decide if they wanted to have sex with her. Upon departure, the family gave the girl a small amount of money.
After one of these trips, the girl’s mother was home and found out what was happening. She immediately called the police to report the incident. The second survivor relayed a similar incident. All 3 suspects have now been charged with child sex trafficking related offenses. AIM’s legal team will represent the survivors in all forthcoming legal proceedings. For now, the girls are being cared for at a partner aftercare center. Please join us in praying for these brave survivors and their families.
