A Message from AIM’s new Director of Development, Julie Harrold

Dear AIM family and new friends,

I knew traveling to Cambodia and facing the issue of child sex-trafficking would be difficult, but really had no idea. I had my chance to go to Cambodia with a small group in 2010. While there we had a very special opportunity to visit with the girls at AIM’s Agape Restoration Center (ARC).

While touring the grounds, one of the smaller girls took me by the hand and began giving me her own tour. She was very excited, pulling me with her tiny hand around to the bedrooms and classrooms. Suddenly it hit me that she was here because she had been rescued. ARC is a safe place where rescued girls get healing, restoration, relationship and all the tools they need to build a life. This tiny girl was the face of child sex-trafficking. She was trapped in a brothel, raped and tortured on a daily basis. My heart broke. But my heartbreak was eclipsed by a hope and joy that she had been rescued.

My name is Julie Harrold, and I am the newest addition to Agape International Mission’s US Team based in Roseville, California. I am very excited to join, having been aware of AIM from the very beginning. AIM has been successfully fighting trafficking, restoring victims and transforming communities since 2005. Many of you have been faithfully partnering since the beginning. I am honored to join the ranks and fight beside you for the innocent.

My hope and prayer is that everyone would not only know about the evil in Cambodia but also how much God is at work there. You don’t have to go to Cambodia to have your heart broken, you just have to hear the stories. Listen to how God is changing the hearts of pimps and restoring the girls. Join him where he is working; join the fight.

Sincerely,

Julie Harrold

Director of Development
