As children in the United States prepare to head back to school, the staff and students at AIM School in Cambodia are giddy with excitement. The new AIM School building is in the final stages of construction! Soon we’ll be putting the finishing touches on the interior rooms, and we expect to be teaching our first classes there in October.
The new AIM School is more than just a new building. To the community of Svay Pak, it represents a tremendous amount of hope and change. In Cambodia, a lack of education for children has left them vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. By God’s grace, we are changing the trajectory of their lives through the power of education and empowerment.
“We have found that education really impacts the value of a child in the eyes of the community. They are not just bringing home their letters and numbers, they are bringing home value to their families.”
– Kimberly Hogsett, AIM School Director
The children attending AIM School are Cambodia’s future doctors, political leaders, scientists, and teachers. We’re building this school for them, and our desire is that we can protect more children and provide them with the education they need to break the cycle of poverty in their families.
Over 400 students currently attend school in our rented building, and we’ve been beyond capacity for years. Our new building has room to welcome many more students, which means many more lives can be changed through positive education. Through AIM School, we are impacting the future of an entire generation!
Every child deserves to hope. Every child deserves an education. Every child deserves a childhood.
