BREAKING: AIM Rescue Team Raid – Jan 21, 2016

FROM THE AIM RESCUE TEAM DIRECTOR:

On the evening of Thursday, 21st January 2016 the Phnom Penh Anti Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Police (AHTJP) together with the AIM Rescue Team carried out a raid at a Vietnamese brothel in the Stung Meanchey area of Phnom Penh. During the raid, 2 brothel managers were arrested along with the rescue of 3 adults and 4 suspected minor victims. During interviews, the victims admitted to being sold for sex on the premises by the brothel managers, who both fully confessed and admitted their guilt. The girls and women have all been transferred to partner aftercare shelters. Both brothel managers have been charged with child sex trafficking related offenses and are currently in prison awaiting sentencing.
