FROM THE AIM RESCUE TEAM DIRECTOR:
During the afternoon of Friday, 22nd January 2016, the Siem Reap Anti Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Police together with the AIM Rescue Team carried out a raid of a KTV (karaoke bar), which doubled as a brothel. During the raid, 8 victims were rescued, 4 of whom are believed to be minors. The brothel owner and supervisors were arrested on suspicion of child sex trafficking offenses. In interviews, the victims admitted to being sold for sex inside the KTV to the profit of the owner and supervisors. The 4 minors are currently being cared for with an aftercare partner. The 3 arrested have all been charged with child sex trafficking related offenses and are now in prison awaiting trial.
