After trafficking survivors have been rescued and have gone through an aftercare program, they need to be equipped to survive in a world where some would still like to victimize them. This means training them with marketable skills that will enable them to work in healthy jobs. We also stay in touch with the girls and women indefinitely, ensuring they know we’re here to support, encourage and help them whenever they need it.
Recently, our team followed up with 24 survivors from our China Rescue program who have reintegrated back into society. We were overjoyed to hear that most of them are doing very well. Some of the women now have safe, sustainable employment at restaurants and shops. A few are even running their very own businesses!
This joyous news is just one example that restoration is possible and that the cycle of exploitation can be defeated.
