Monday, November 19 proved to be a day of victory for the anti-human trafficking movement!
A brothel masquerading as a massage parlor was raided by the Phnom Penh Police and AIM SWAT after being under investigation from intelligence that two minors were being sold for sex within the “parlor.”
A covert operation confirmed this intel during a second raid and both girls (aged 14 and 15) and also three adult women were rescued while one suspect was arrested.
Both girls are now under the care of a partner aftercare shelter and the adult victims are currently with the Government District Social Affairs Office. The trafficking suspect is being detained and faces child sex trafficking offenses.
