Four Men Rescued After Being Trafficked To Cambodia

Thanks to a complaint made by the Indian Embassy staff in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap Police together with AIM SWAT arrested a suspect on July 1st for trafficking 4 men to Cambodia for forced labor at a local restaurant.

All 4 of the men were tricked into paying the suspect large amounts of money to travel to Cambodia to work with the promise of earning $1,000 per month. Instead, their passports were confiscated by the suspect once they arrived and they were either paid extremely small amounts or not at all.

The man responsible has been charged with human trafficking-related offenses and will remain in prison until his trial, while the victims have all been transferred to a partner aftercare shelter and will receive free legal representation from our team.
