A Cambodian man recently filed a complaint to the police in suspicion that his sister was lured to China by a married couple who lied about a promising job opportunity. Once she arrived, a Chinese man purchased her from the couple and forced her to marry him.
The young woman successfully broke free from her captor and was held by the Chinese Police and returned to Cambodia shortly after.
The couple suspected of trafficking the young woman was arrested by the T’bong Khmom Cambodian Police on October 16th with the assistance of the AIM SWAT Team. Human trafficking charges have been filed against the couple and they anticipate their trial from behind bars. The victim is being represented by the SWAT Legal Team throughout the trial process until the final sentence is determined.
