“Happy Birthday Jesus!” Cambodia Updates

It was a busy Friday in Svay Pak.

The AIM Rahab’s House School and Kid’s Club had their Christmas parties in Svay Pak. Bunthan and team expected 250 children, but 300 showed up, to a packed standing room only sanctuary.

God, once again, did a Christmas miracle. Every child left with a bag containing a piece of clothing, 2 pencils, and 2 pens, along with a bag containing a juice, fruit and cookies.

In the weeks leading up to this day, His joy was in the air and today one absolutely, truly felt the joy of The Lord.

So many of these children don’t know their own birthday, but they knew what they were celebrating today: Jesus’ Birthday. To hear 300 little voices belting out Happy Birthday to You, Jesus, Happy Birthday to YOU. Aw, we all were tearing up, some more like Niagara Falls… it was so, so sweet. The joy the staff had in seeing the children so happy was a gift for them.

This Sunday in Svay Pak the church and community will come to celebrate Our Savior’s Birthday.

Earlier this month we didn’t have the funds to do these celebrations but God is faithful! The funds came for the double salaries, bills and the parties. Because of God through you, AIM’s Restoration Center girls and staff had a lovely service and party to celebrate Jesus’ birth last Saturday. A good majority of them will also come to Svay Pak to celebrate this Sunday as well.

The people in the community are saying, “Look what your God does!” Never do they say, “Where is your God?”

We see Him show up daily, even in the darkest hours, even when it seems hopeless. He shows up and makes good out of what man has intended for evil. People in Svay Pak are seeing Him, talking about Him and the news is traveling all over the country and world through His people!

We are full of God’s joy for all He has done for us. We are most grateful for His salvation, grace, mercy and love. We are grateful for our family, friends, staff, girls, supporters, prayer warriors and partners. We are grateful for the way He came down as a baby to convey to us He understands us through and through; we can trust and have faith in Him.

We pray for those who do not know Him, that this year they will choose to investigate and embrace what we experience and know as Truth.

From all of us in Cambodia and Team USA, we pray you feel Him in the might ways we do this Christmas and every day.

“The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”–which means, “God with us.” Matthew 1:23
