Another brothel has been shut down thanks to officers of the Phnom Penh Police and AIM SWAT!
After 4 weeks, a surveillance operation revealed that minors were being sold for sex to customers of a restaurant and massage parlor in Kandal province. Officers raided the premise rescuing 5 survivors, at least two of whom are minors, and arresting one suspected trafficker. The brothel was then officially shut down by local authorities.

In interviews with the survivors, police confirmed that they were being forced to have sex with customers to the profit of the suspect and were beaten if they refused.
The women and girls were also subject to rape by the suspect and after several became pregnant, they were forced to have abortions.
Three of the girls have been transferred to a partner aftercare shelter and the 2 women were transferred to our Restoration Home in Svay Pak. The suspect has now been charged with child sex trafficking-related offenses and will remain in prison to await trial where our legal team will represent all victims throughout the forthcoming court process. Join us in praying for the girls’ healing.
