2024 Q1 SWAT Update

Our AIM SWAT kicked off the new year with specialized training alongside the Cambodian police. After sharpening their tactical and operational skills together, they have rescued 28 survivors and assisted with the arrest of 6 traffickers in the first quarter!

Working in tandem with the Cambodian police gives us the opportunity to investigate potential instances of trafficking, arrest traffickers, and rescue survivors. In addition, AIM SWAT’s Legal Team has continued to advocate for justice on behalf of survivors and their families throughout their court proceedings.

February 20th

Two Brothels Closed in Bottambang!

After thorough investigation, on February 20th, AIM SWAT supported the Cambodian police in raiding two neighboring brothels, both fronting as massage parlors. During the raids, 8 minors and 2 adults were rescued! The Cambodian police arrested two traffickers.

Location of the raid – Battambang, Cambodia

All 8 minors have been transferred to AIM’s Restoration Home for aftercare services. Both adult survivors were transferred to the local District Social Affairs Office for additional resources. Please join us in praying for these survivors as they walk in freedom and begin their healing journeys!

Both of the brothels have officially been closed by local authorities. The arrested suspects await their trials in prison. AIM’s legal team will offer free legal representation to every survivor in their coming court proceedings.

March 20th

Brothel Fronting as Karaoke Bar Closed in T’bong Khmom!

On Wednesday, March 20th, AIM SWAT supported local authorities in the raid of a brothel in central T’bong Khmom that was fronting as a karaoke bar. During the raid, 2 minors and 3 adults were rescued! Two traffickers were arrested.

Both minors have been transferred to AIM’s Restoration Home for aftercare services, and all three adult survivors were transferred to the local District Social Affairs Office for additional resources.

The brothel in T’bong Khmom has officially been closed by local authorities. Both traffickers now await their trials, and each survivor will receive free representation by AIM’s Legal Team throughout their court proceedings. march 27th

4 Survivors Rescued and 1 Arrested in Battambang!

On Wednesday, March 27th, AIM SWAT assisted the Cambodian police in raiding a brothel fronting as a massage parlor in central Battambang. During the raid, 2 minors and 2 adults were rescued! One trafficker was arrested.

Both minors have been transferred to AIM’s Restoration Home for aftercare services, and both adult survivors were introduced to other local resources. Please join us in praying for each survivor as they begin their healing journey.

The brothel in Battambang has officially been closed by local authorities, and all four survivors will receive free representation by AIM’s Legal Team throughout their court case.

March 29th

Cambodian Police and AIM SWAT Rescue 9 Survivors in Phnom Penh!

On Friday, March 29th, AIM SWAT assisted Cambodian police in the raid of a rented house in central Phnom Penh that was suspected to be a sex trafficking site. During the raid, 8 minors and 1 adult were rescued! All 8 minors are now safe and receiving care at AIM’s Restoration Home, and the 1 adult has been transferred to a partner aftercare center.

The home that was used as a brothel has been closed by local authorities. After questioning and the search for evidence, one trafficker was arrested and awaits trial. AIM’s Legal Team has offered free representation to all 9 survivors in their coming court proceedings.
