2 Traffickers Arrested, 15-Year-Old and 4 Others Rescued in Siem Reap

Another brothel operating as a massage parlor was exposed and shut down on April 4th by AIM SWAT and Siem Reap Police. Following a covert operation, officers rescued a 15-year-old girl and another suspected minor along with 3 adults during the raid.

After their rescue, the girls shared that they were being sold for sex on the premise in interviews and 2 suspected traffickers were arrested. The suspects denied any involvement but were still charged with child sex trafficking-related offenses and will await trial from prison.

Two of the women were transferred to the local District Social Affairs Office and the other has moved to our Transitional Home, while the minors are being cared for at a partner shelter. Our legal team will represent the minors and any adults who would like free counsel in the upcoming trial.
