God is doing amazing things in Siem Reap!
Siem Reap is AIM’s second, big city of focus in the country of Cambodia. Children who are exploited in Svay Pak often end up trafficked north to Siem Reap, a destination for sex-tourism. Entire buses of men from China and other countries will arrive and pick young women from the stages of karaoke bars or the streets. But there is hope for every girl!
We celebrated the grand opening of a new outreach center! Now we have expanded our residential program and relocated the outreach center to the heart of the red light district. Our new outreach facility will offer English classes, a medical clinic, an outreach salon, and other activities all with the purpose of building relationships, introducing them to the Gospel, and plugging them into opportunities for employment and safe housing to leave lives of sexual exploitation.
The second Rahab’s Salon is beautiful, even has a very classy chandelier. The girls worked every second of the day donating the salon services, but from here on out it’s paying customers. They served a great number of new ladies ( and a few security guys) as well as most of Bella’s English class and all of the Westerners in attendance, even the team from Bayside Church!
Our lovely Bella was married this week! You can view her testimony HERE.
It was such a sweet day, full of joyful happy tears and laughter. And great food, too.
Brandon and Isaac are working on getting AEC III opened to make t- shirts soon. Brandon has been working hard to get the paperwork lined up, facility located, and staff recruited for the next AIM Employment Center in Siem Reap – we’re just awaiting the start up funding. We’re excited for when all three facilities – housing, outreach and employment – will be open because we believe this “trifecta” will help us to make outreach truly effective. The greatest needs girls mention when they talk about leaving the KTVs are safe housing and viable employment. Please be praying that we will be able to get the employment center up and running soon.
The staff and people love to fuss over Brandon & Natasha’s so very beautiful 3 children.
Dr. Carla is seeing more than a hundred new people in the new outreach center in SR. She is busy going back and forth and doing a marvelous job.
